CRAFT EXCELLENCE
The owner, Júlio Araújo, found himself on the path to mastering upholstery in 1993 when he began his working experience with leather designers and stitchers, graffiti artists, and handcrafting in Northeastern Brazilian Indian Pataxó tribes. While working for the top three of New England's largest companies, he mastered the upholstery trade and spring art in Massachusetts in the past two decades. This is why Boston Leather Art Craft Co. has a unique combination of experience, creativity, wood and leather design, and cultural awareness. We believe there is no limit to creativity, and we are ready to catch your vision and execute your projects — furniture, booths, cars, boats, custom doors, panels, pet accessories, and more.

SPRINGS ART
Upholstery springs are a crucial component of upholstered furniture that provide support, comfort, and durability. Several types of upholstery springs are available, each with unique benefits.
The most common type of upholstery spring is the coil spring, also known as the Bonnell spring. This type of spring is made by coiling tempered steel wire into a cone shape and tying them together with wire. The coils are then attached to a framework, creating a spring unit that can be inserted into furniture.
Bonnell springs are durable and offer good support, making them popular for traditional upholstered furniture such as sofas and armchairs. However, they can be uncomfortable for some people as they tend to produce a "bouncy" feel and can create pressure points.
Another type of upholstery spring is the pocket spring. These springs are individually wrapped in fabric pockets and then joined to create a spring unit. Pocket springs are famous in higher-end furniture as they offer better support and reduce the likelihood of pressure points. They also tend to be quieter and less bouncy than Bonnell Springs.
